print:ability
2024
weißensee kunsthochschule berlin
3D-printed objects often lack the tactile, aesthetic, and emotional qualities of industrially produced or handcrafted items. The Print:ability project explores how the printing process can lead to a process-driven design approach. Using Rhino 3D and Grasshopper to program FDM and ceramic printers, students engage directly with the fundamental aspects of printing, such as line and layer extrusion. The resulting objects embrace the how they were made and showcase the unique qualities of the printing process.
