In the age of automation, people are largely driven out of the production process by fully automatic machines. Products are the result of predetermined parameters. Any spontaneity and possibility of improvisation that arises in a moment of active intervention is lost. Instead of singularity, there is endless reproducibility, whereby we lose touch with our products.

me_chine is the attempt of an interactive dialogue between man and machine and examines the potential of modern production for sustainable alternatives and new references to our product culture. The shape of an object is generated from individual thoughts/ brainwaves recorded by an eeg-device and is materialized by a self-designed ceramic 3d printer. Depending on the individual‘s brain activity, individual and non-reproductible objects are created. A direct color response gives information / neurofeedback, depending on a relaxed or stressed state of mind.
