symbiotic spaces

multi-species habitat
2021

The independent research project Symbiotic Spaces, explores the potential of cohabitation between humans and other species within urban spaces. Local clays, self-developed 3D printers, and multi- species design play a central role. As one of four core members of the collective, I was involved in the design and construction of the customized 3D printer, which can be set up outdoors and prints continuously with a self-developed clay pump.

Symbiotic Spaces founded 2021 by Laurin Kilbert, evolved into an aesthetic research project that is collectively being realized in Hildesheim, together with the Nature Conservation Agency, the NABU and many different actants. In 2022 the project was awarded with New European Bauhaus Prize Rising Stars „Reconnecting with nature“.
